EVABLAZIN - (Moses Pertab)

Moses Leonard Pertab (EvaBlazin) was born on November 8, in the South American capital city of Georgetown, Guyana. The first of two children discovered the world of music at age fourteen when he became a DJ on a local sound system where influences from the likes of Terror Fabulous, Spragga Benz, Garnett Silk, and Bob Marley eventually led to a career in singing. While claiming Reggae as his biggest influence, 'because of the voice it gives to the people', the singer attributes his melodic flow to a diverse taste in music, which includes: Rock and Roll, Pop, R&B, Soca, and traditional Indian music.

EDUCATION: The singer migrated to the United States in 1996 leaving St. Joseph's High School in Georgetown, Guyana. He continued his studies at John Adams High in NY. Later, he attended Dowling College in the city, where he studied aeronautics for 2 and 1/2 years.

After Dowling, the singer became a student of Liberal Arts at Hunter College in NY. He remained at Hunter for 2 years, before leaving to pursue a full time career in music.

Career Performances, and Highlights: During his career, Evablazin has performed as an opening act for Jay-Z and Rihanna at their 2006 World Tour in Asia, where Rihanna was Jay-Z's main opening act. Another highlight performance was at the Asian Hip Hop Festival which headlined Nas in 2008. In 2010 the singer performed for the first time in his home country Guyana at a concert featuring Gyptian and Tarrus Riley. In addition he has performed in Thailand, Singapore, and Japan.

Movie Soundtracks: Evablazin was featured three times on the soundtrack of "Province77" in 2002, the songs P77, Thaitay MF and Whine were made with Thai's famous Thaitanium group, the songs were hits in the Asian underground community. In 2010 his hit single "Dem A Wonda" was featured on the soundtrack of the Guyanese made movie "Till I Find A Place" - directed and produced by Mahadeo Shivraj.

Collaborations: Over the years the singer has collaborated with numerous artists including Yuichiro “Iceman” Tanaka, Thaitanium, Dandee, Shingo, Take-T, Youth, Seldom Seen and Joe Chillin.  In addition to his solo career, Evablazin is an active member of the Japanese group Tom Yum Samurai. Last year, the singer appeared on many compilations and mixtapes with artists from around the world.

Media - Radio, TV & Print: Evablazin has been featured in numerous media outlets around the globe: BTV in Guyana, Channel 5, Kaiteur News, The Guyana Chronicle, Hits & Jams Guyana, Xposed TV NY and several newspapers and magazines in Asia. 

Charity: The singer/songwriter, producer and humanitarian recently co-founded WHEEL - a non profit NGO whose mandate includes protecting the environment and providing educational workshops. WHEEL is currently working on projects in the region of Guyana.
